A Weekend of Firsts

This weekend we had a fun camping trip with good friends. We meet Ashley (my friend since 8th grade), her 3 year old daughter, Ashley's boyfriend and his 10 year old son. The boys had a great time fishing, biking, climbing trees, and swimming. The water was too cold for most of us sane people, but some crazy folks went in.

We can't wait to get down there again. Our site was perfect, it backed up to sandstone formations including a big "sand box" just behind our site.

Our first camping trip of the season

Griffin's first whiddling - yikes, boys and pocket knives

Hayden's first fish - those spiderman fishing poles really do work

Griffin's first fish - he caught it all by himself

Hayden's first tree - you can only climb up if you can get down by yourself

Carter and Griffin's first late night (8pm) fishing trip without adults - a short walk back from the youth pond in the dark, with flash lights

It was so much fun we are already trying to book another trip to Lathrop State park this summer.

That looks fun, although the swimming part gives me chills just looking at the picture.

Carter has been bugging me that he NEEDS to go fishing... I better not let him see this post or I'll never hear the end of it.

Looks like you had a great time though.
