Three is a magic number

Ben and I had gone to Cancun, I love margaritas, you figure out the rest. On the trip home we had a layover in Dallas, we sat in TGIF's for dinner...right across from a family with three boys. I told Ben, "well that is a sign, If I am pregnant it will be boy number three." I was and 9 months later, I did.

There is just something magical about three boys. The three of them sitting in the back seat singing this song and watching the video as if it were their theme song. No not "Bad Boys, Bad Boys, whatcha gonna do.."

You may remember this whole post about my love for this DVD. If you don't have one yet, seriously what are you waiting for. Remember how exciting it was when they actually showed your favorite video on Saturday morning? Now you can watch your kids love it too. But I digress...

If you have two children already (of the same gender) and are thinking of trying for one of the opposite, statistically your chances are less than 50/50 until your 5th child. Not to say that it can't happen, we all know those with BBG or GGB. But we also all know BBB, BBBB, GGG, or GGGG families.

Our third boy is the snuggler. His older brothers (usually) enjoy giving him piggy back rides and playing with him on the tire swing. He tries to keep up with the 7 and 10 year old boys that come over. I love that they are all brothers and that there isn't a girl to feel left out of boys stuff. I didn't imagine I would have three boys, "I ordered twin girls, so I would only be pregnant once," I used to joke. But now I can see that old Garth Brooks song was right, "Thank God for unanswered prayers."

I am a middle child and worried about having a middle child. We try to do fun things together pretty often, "just the middles," we say. And of course, the oldest gets to go lots of places since he is the oldest. And the youngest gets to go lots of places when the others are off too. So really, it all works out just fine. I figure they will all need therapy for something someday anyway, we can only just do our best now.

We are so glad Hayden was a boy, and so glad we made the decision (albeit with the help of Jose Cuervo) to have boy number 3. Our first was a given, we knew we wanted to have children. Our second was a given, we knew we wanted more than one. Our third, well he was a bonus!

I won't say what is right for any other families, but after number two, we just knew we weren't done yet. After all, Three is a Magic Number!

So my mom is the fifth child after four boys. Then she had two more brothers before another girl then rounding out the ten kids with another boy. We were blessed with one of each but sometimes I wonder what would happen if we would have had three! Great post!

You are totally making me want to have three boys! Since I already have a girl, though, I guess that's out. Maybe three girls?

I have to agree. 3 is the lucky number. Having 3 boys of my own, I fell I am truly blessed and busy sorting out stinky socks....boys do have their very own scent.

I Love Love having 3 boys - it un-nerves me when people say "are you going to try for a girl?" Then they are in total shock when I say "no, I only try for boys and so far I am batting 100" I have two other friends that had their 3 boy at the same time I had Tru, now we have another friend having her 3rd boy! We honestly have to start a club!

Love it! Love it!

I am so wanting our next to be a boy too that a tiny part of me will be disappointed if we have a girl (but I'd get over that disappointment pretty quick by going girl shopping, shopping is great therapy!)

I really never imagined I'd be so happy with boys but I am.

I didn't know it until I had it, but 3 is magic. I did manage to get that GGB combo though ;). Lucky me because if I didn't hubby really might have wanted to try once more for that boy ;).
